up to 65,580 words. if you take the novel at around 250 words per page, that's around 262 pages of full text. that's alright for a start.

i've introduced a new character in the second half of the novel. not really a "part two" thing, but it could be...

i am trying to stay away from popular hollywood schemes and twice now have asked my wife if this "trick" would work or was it too "hollywood"... i've been shot down twice now... thankfully.

talking to an editor friend of mine about getting it to him soon, maybe august first...

they then get it back to me by september first...

and i wrap it all up and get it published... maybe... october 31st?

i'm abusing and torturing my protagonist to see if he's got the gumption to pull thru.

i just looked at the first post and realized that i've been working on this thing for a year now. i'm still uber excited about it and hope that you are too.

yay! my first novel.

so...

i'm at 56,000 words, but if you can't enjoy them... then what's the point?

in an effort to have not only a NOVEL but a GREAT NOVEL, i am going back thru the beginning, with a fine toothed comb and rewording entire sentences - and in one instance a complete paragraph.

yargh.

but hey.

you want art? or do you want life-sized-awesome art that will make you laugh and cry and gasp?

yeah.

that's what i thought.

i shall work on this book until i am happy. it will get done so the rest of you can enjoy it.

i've got 2,397 words that are going to be used, in around six parts... snippets of conversation, things that need to happen... that i need to try and work in somewhere that are not part of the full word count yet... but WILL BE SOON...

also on the plot development, i've got the next several sections laid out, i just need to plow thru them. the end is still a little fuzzy in my mind, how it will all work out, but i think i can get a grasp on the situation.

ugh. it's 3:33 am, why am i not asleep?
